Over the course of the years we have been doing this, working with our tools, one of the questions that always pops up is....How do I sharpen this knife/hatchet/ax?
Well, this workshop is going to answer your questions. Covering topics like tool, steel types, angles and edge type we are going to cram in a lot of info in a very short order of time. Along with some the sharpening topics will be water stones, oil stones, hones and strops.
This will be a limited hands-on presentation, meaning if you have tools that need sharpened and you have sharpening stones, hones and strops, please bring them and learn with us. If you do not, feel free to bring the tool you may like sharpened but please understand you may not get that much hands on...it will depend on the availability of others in the class and what we can use for demonstration.
We have a location picked out and it is in the city, however at this time we are not presenting that information as we are putting together a required legal waiver for attendees.
If you are bring a sharp tool please follow all state and city laws in travelling with this, along with have a proper sheath. This may mean wrapping an ax head in a thick towel and tapping up. (Remember to bring the tape to re-wrap said ax head).
As soon as we straighten out the waiver we will be publishing the location.
I have limited the space to 25 students. This is both a teacher and a safety restriction. PLEASE, if can not in good faith attend do not RSVP just to hold the spot. If this is a popular as I believe it will be we will be doing it again.
peace,
Eric
